Brechfa Forest – Trees in Autumn Glory
Coedwig Brechfa – Coed yn eu Gogoniant Hydrefol
Brechfa Forest is an ancient forest site with a mixture of areas of broadleaf trees and modern conifer plantations. We are running a photography competition to celebrate the attractiveness of the landscape and our veteran and ancient trees.
Entrys open from the 2nd of October, and close on the 1st of December. We are accepting entries in the format of JPG files with the location embedded in the photograph. Only photographs taken of trees in Brechfa Forest will be accepted.
The judging will be undertaken by a committee of local residents. With the winner notified in December.
The prize for the winner will be a hamper of local produce with a value of £100.
All entries will be stored and used by Brechfa Forest and Llanllwni Mountain Tourism Cluster Group, and will be made available to other community groups for locally run projects.
Because some email systems remove the location data from photographs, please use this form on our website to submit entries.
If you are not used to needing to including location when you take photos with your phone when out for a walk. There are two important points. 1, You need to allow the camera on your mobile phone to have access to your location. 2. Location accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites.
One simple trick to check that your phone has connected successfully to satellites and will record the correct location in your photograph is to open the Google map app and ensure that the blue circle shows your current location before you take a photograph

Mae Coedwig Brechfa yn safle coetir hynafol sy’n cynnwys cymysgedd o ardaloedd o goed collddail a phlanhigfeydd conwydd modern. Rydym yn cynnal cystadleuaeth ffotograffiaeth i ddathlu prydferthwch y dirwedd a’n coed hynafol a hynafedig.
Mae’r gystadleuaeth yn agor ar yr 2il o Hydref ac yn cau ar y 1af o Ragfyr. Rydym yn derbyn ceisiadau yn y fformat JPG gyda’r lleoliad wedi’i fewnosod yn y ffotograff. Dim ond ffotograffau o goed yn Nghoedwig Brechfa fydd yn cael eu derbyn.
Bydd y beirniadu’n cael ei gynnal gan bwyllgor o drigolion lleol, gyda’r enillydd yn cael ei hysbysu ym mis Rhagfyr.
Y wobr i’r enillydd fydd basged o gynnyrch lleol gwerth £100.
Bydd pob cais yn cael ei storio a’i ddefnyddio gan Grŵp Clystyru Twristiaeth Coedwig Brechfa a Mynydd Llanllwni, ac ar gael i grwpiau cymunedol eraill ar gyfer prosiectau lleol.
Gan fod rhai systemau e-bost yn tynnu’r data lleoliad o ffotograffau, defnyddiwch y ffurflen ar ein gwefan i gyflwyno ceisiadau.
Os nad ydych yn gyfarwydd â chynnwys lleoliad wrth dynnu lluniau ar eich ffôn wrth fynd am dro, mae dau bwynt pwysig:
1. Rhaid i chi ganiatáu i gamera’ch ffôn symudol gael mynediad i’ch lleoliad.
2. Mae cywirdeb lleoliad yn amrywio yn ôl nifer y lloerennau GPS sydd i’w gweld.
Tric syml i wirio bod eich ffôn wedi cysylltu’n llwyddiannus â lloerennau ac y bydd yn cofnodi’r lleoliad cywir yn eich llun yw agor yr ap Google Maps a sicrhau bod y cylch glas yn dangos eich lleoliad cyfredol cyn i chi dynnu ffotograff.
