About Us

Amdanom Ni

The essence and environment of a community rooted in a forest differ significantly from those of an agricultural society. Long before history was documented, our community thrived on the principles of collaboration and stewardship of our woodland. Over the centuries, from the rise of Christianity to the Norman Conquest, through shifts in national governance and the advent of modern technology, the ways in which our forest sustains us have evolved. Yet, its pivotal role in shaping our community’s identity and existence remains as strong as ever.

Starting in 2008,   Welsh Government,  Carmarthenshire County Council and staff on secondment from NRW worked with the community to support us to be an exemplar community on the value of community led sustainable development.   Linking the attractiveness of the landscape and tourism to the wider local economy.

The members of the tourism cluster group are volunteers who have worked on projects approved and funded by NRW and Carmarthenshire County Council.
