About Us

Amdanom Ni

The essence and environment of a community rooted in a forest differ significantly from those of an agricultural society. Long before history was documented, our community thrived on the principles of collaboration and stewardship of our woodland. Over the centuries, from the rise of Christianity to the Norman Conquest, through shifts in national governance and the advent of modern technology, the ways in which our forest sustains us have evolved. Yet, its pivotal role in shaping our community’s identity and existence remains as strong as ever.

Starting in 2008,   Welsh Government,  Carmarthenshire County Council and staff on secondment from NRW worked with the community to support us to be an exemplar community on the value of community led sustainable development.   Linking the attractiveness of the landscape and tourism to the wider local economy.

The tourism cluster group was founded with support from NRW and Carmarthenshire County Council.   We are a vehicle for  volunteers who come together to  work on projects developed by the community.   We have been awarded grant funding by NRW and Carmarthenshire County Council and the community benefits fund for Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm for a range of projects.

Membership is free and is open to both local businesses and people interested in projects to benefit anyone using Brechfa forest or Llanllwni Mountain for recreation..    Please complete the membership form
